Own vs. rent

Rent forever, or own it once?

  1. See the price first

Rental dealers usually reveal pricing only after a free in-home test and pitch. Ours is right here: $1,500 all-in.

  2. You own the system

No contract that renews every month and no tank to give back. It’s your equipment, in your house.

  3. Installed and permitted

Not a box on your doorstep. We install it, pull the permit, and hand you the first glass.

~$19/month rental, 1 year$228
5 years$1,140
10 years$2,280, still not yours
It’s Water Kind$1,500 once. You own it.

Rental math is illustrative. Rental prices vary by dealer and don’t include fees. Filters are an ongoing cost either way.

Two ways to better water.

Most homes in Kenmore and Buffalo only need great water at the kitchen tap. Start there, or treat the whole house.

FAQ

Questions, answered straight.

What about filter changes?

You own the system, so filters are yours too. Prefilters are usually changed every 6–12 months and the RO membrane every few years, depending on use. A filter subscription that handles this for you is coming soon.

Can I cancel?

Yes. Every install comes with a written contract, and you have 3 business days after signing to cancel, as New York law requires for home improvement contracts.

How long does installation take?

An under-sink reverse osmosis install usually takes about 2–4 hours. Whole-Home Kind (whole-house carbon + softener) is typically 4–8 hours. Custom whole-home RO can take 1–2 days.

Do I need a permit or a licensed plumber?

Yes, and we handle it. In Kenmore, Tonawanda and Buffalo, connecting a reverse osmosis or whole-house system to your plumbing needs a permit pulled by a licensed plumber. It’s included in the price. Swapping shower heads doesn’t need a permit.

Why filtered shower heads instead of reverse osmosis in the shower?

Reverse osmosis is far too slow to keep up with shower flow, so it can’t run a shower. Ours are filtered, chlorine-reducing shower heads, built to cut chlorine in your shower water. You get two free with Kind Kitchen.
