City water is chlorinated to keep it safe. You feel it in the shower. We swap in two filtered, chlorine-reducing shower heads on install day. Reverse osmosis can’t run at shower flow, so we don’t pretend it does.

Kenmore’s water comes from the Town of Tonawanda water plant, which draws from the Niagara River. The latest annual report shows it meets standards with no violations.
Chlorine keeps city water safe on the way to you. It’s also why you taste and smell it at the tap, and why some people notice drier skin and hair after a shower.
Lead risk mostly comes from older service lines and home plumbing. Buffalo’s water board says its distribution system has no detectable lead. The pipes into older homes are another story.
RO pushes water through a very fine membrane, reducing a wide range of contaminants at the kitchen tap, chlorine taste included. Reported PFAS levels here are very low, and RO reduces those too.

Yes, and we handle it. In Kenmore, Tonawanda and Buffalo, connecting a reverse osmosis or whole-house system to your plumbing needs a permit pulled by a licensed plumber. It’s included in the price. Swapping shower heads doesn’t need a permit.
Reverse osmosis is far too slow to keep up with shower flow, so it can’t run a shower. Ours are filtered, chlorine-reducing shower heads, built to cut chlorine in your shower water. You get two free with Kind Kitchen.

Lead usually comes from older service lines and home plumbing, not the water plant. Reverse osmosis is one of the most effective ways to reduce lead at the tap. City of Buffalo homeowners can look up their service line in the city’s public inventory.
You own the system, so filters are yours too. Prefilters are usually changed every 6–12 months and the RO membrane every few years, depending on use. A filter subscription that handles this for you is coming soon.
Yes. Every install comes with a written contract, and you have 3 business days after signing to cancel, as New York law requires for home improvement contracts.
